Dry ice is the solid form of $C O_{2}$ or frozen $C O_{2}$
When pressure on any gas is increased then the space between the two molecules or atoms get reduced. The compression of gas makes it solid. During this, process heat energy is released. $C O_{2}$ is then compressed to get converted to solid waste. This is dry ice. Also called as "Cardice".
