What is eco-mark?
Answer:
The Eco-mark is provided as a certification mark by the Bureau of Indian Standards for goods that are ecologically sustainable and adhere to the standards prescribed by the BIS. The scheme was first put into practise in 1991. It is voluntary in nature and leads to the consumer identification of eco-friendly goods.
The label is released in approximately 16 categories, such as food, drugs, chemicals, electronic products, paper, lubricating oils, packaging materials, and so on. The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change is responsible for the Eco-mark system.
