Question

What is effect of temperature on the modulus of elasticity of a solid?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student
As temperature is increased the atomic bond strength decreases and as modulus of elasticity is defined as ratio of stress to strain producedY=StressStrainSo if stress is applied after increasing temperature of the object more deformation is caused that is strain is more than usual so modulus of elasticity decreases with increasein temperature.Regards
