Question

What is electrostatic Shielding?

Open in App
Solution

As we know that electrostatic field inside a conductor is zero, we use this properly to protect certain object from high electric fields by placing them inside a hollow conductor. This property is called electrostatic shielding.

for ex :- It is always advisible that when lighting struck we should be inside a bus or car, this is because car & buses are conductors which stops the electric field, i.e. there is no electric field inside them and that's how we are same from thunder.
