  2. The bonds involve ions which are formed by either gaining or losing of electrons.
  3. This type of bond is formed between metals and non-metals. The metals loses electron to form cation, while the non-metals gain electron to form an anion.
  4. This bond exists between electropositive and electronegative elements.
  5. For example: NaCl,HCl,NaOH,KCl, etc.
