Endometrium:

1. The mucosal inner lining of the uterus is known as the endometrium.
2. It is the only organ of the human females which changes its shape every month and grows in size.

Function:

1. The uterine wall or endometrium provides cushioning to the developing embryo.
2. If fertilization does not take place the uterine walls break and blood comes out through the vagina through the process called menstruation.
