What are energy and its types?

Solution

Energy:

  1. A physical system's ability to accomplish activity is called energy. Energy may be changed into other forms, but it cannot be generated or destroyed.
  2. The SI unit of energy is Joule(J) or newton-meter(N*m).

Types of energy:

The various forms of energy are as follows:

  1. Solar energy: Solar energy is a sort of energy that is produced by the sun. Solar energy is produced via nuclear fusion, which occurs throughout the sun.
  2. Wind energy: The technique of harnessing wind energy to create mechanical power as well as electricity is called wind energy. This mechanical power could be employed for specific activities, or it could be converted into electricity via generators.
  3. Hydro energy: A renewable energy resource that creates electricity by changing the natural flow of a riverbed and perhaps other water bodies via the use of a barrier or diversion construction is called hydro energy.
  4. Nuclear energy: Nuclear energy is created by breaking atoms inside a reactor in order to heat water into steam, operate a turbine, as well as produce electricity.
  5. Thermal energy: Internal energy available inside a thermodynamically balanced system as a result of its own temperature is known as thermal energy. This cannot be transferred to meaningful work as efficiently as energy from non-thermodynamically balanced systems.
  6. Sound energy: Vibrations passing through all that provide sound energy. Whenever a factor, such as sound as well as pressure, causes an item or materials to oscillate, sound energy is produced.
  7. Chemical energy: The energy held in atoms and molecules' bonds is called chemical energy
