Solution

Dear Student,

Enthalpy of Solution is defined as the heat of solution of a mole of solute in such a large quantity of solution of known concentration that addition of 1 more mole of solute does not change the concentration appreciably. In a simple terms it means that the maximum enthalpy change possible for dissolution of 1 mole of solute in a particular solvent at specific temperature and pressure.

Le chatelier's principle is the principle which determines how the equilibrium of a reaction changes by changing various factors on which it depends. According to this principle, change in any of the factors that determine the equilibrium conditions of a system will cause the system to change in such a manner so as to reduce or counter-act the effect of the change. These factors include concentration of reactant, product, temperature and catalyst.
