What is the evidence of evolution?

Solution

Evolution:

  1. Natural selection causes a change in a species' physical features over many generations, which is referred to as evolution.
  2. The theory of evolution is based on the idea that all species are linked and evolve over time.

Evidence of evolution:

There are five sorts of evidence supporting evolution: ancient creature remnants, fossil layers, similarities between living animals, DNA similarities, and embryo similarities.

Ancient creature remnants:

The dead remnants of ancient creatures enable scientists to analyze the relationship between the species in the present day and ancient specimens.

Fossil layers:

  1. Fossils are the preserved remnants of ancient species or signs of their remains.
  2. Sedimentary rock is a type of rock that forms in layers when sediments are deposited and pressed on top of one another.
  3. Sedimentary rock frequently includes a large number of fossils because it contains once-living creatures.

Comparative anatomy:

  1. It explains how many animals had a common ancestor and how natural selection or genetic drift leads to the emergence of many different species.
  2. Comparative anatomy was identified in two types: homologous organs and analogous organs.

Embryo development:

  1. In its earliest stages, an embryo is an unborn (or unhatched) animal or human young.
  2. Many various kinds of animals embryos, such as mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish, seem extremely similar, and it can be difficult to tell them apart.
  3. Many characteristics of one species can be found in the embryo of another.
  4. Fish and human embryos, for example, both have gill slits.

DNA similarities:

  1. DNA is the genetic material of most species.
  2. By comparing the sequences of the DNA similarities and differences between the ancestors and the present-day organisms can be studied.
