Solution

Instructions:

  • Write about the different layers of the feudal system.
Solution:
This social system in the medieval period which was formed based on land ownership is called ‘feudalism.’

In this system of feudalism, the king enjoyed the highest rank in society.
The land belonged to him, and he distributed these lands to lords. The lords in return, protect the land by providing military services to the king. These lands were given to the lesser lords in return for services by the lords.

The farmers stood at the lowest rank of the feudal society. Their numbers were high and were forced to work in the fields and houses of the lords. The life of the farmers was worse than that of the slaves.
