What is fibrosis in lungs? How is it caused?

Fibrosis in lungs is called pulmonary fibrosis. In pulmonary fibrosis, tissues in the lungs becomes thick and scarring occurs in the tissue which interferes with the ability of the person to breathe. The causes are not known for the disease.
