What is final dividend?

It is dividend declared at the Annual general meeting of the company by its shareholders. Recommendation regarding final dividend has to come from the directors of the company. The shareholders by themselves cannot declare such dividends. Moreover, they cannot increase the rate of dividend recommended by the directors. They may reduce it.
