Geotropism:

  1. It is a tropic movement in response to gravity.
  2. It is also called gravitropism.
  3. Positive geotropism occurs when plant organs develop in the direction of gravity.
  4. Example - The growth of roots towards gravity.
  5. Negative geotropism occurs when organs grow in the opposite direction of gravity.
  6. Example - The upward growth of stem against gravity.
