Solution
Glycolysis is the first phase of respiration in which glucose is broken down through a series of stepwise enzymatic reactions leading to the formation of pyruvate. It is an anaerobic process. At the end of glycolysis, two molecules of pyruvate are formed from 11 molecule of glucose along with the formation of 4 molecules of ATP and 2 molecules of NADH2.
