Gouty arthritis is the painful inflammatory condition of the joint caused due to accumulation of uric acid crystals in the synovial joint. It is characterised by severe pain, redness and tenderness of the joint. Most common site of gouty arthritis is big toe. But the other joints like knee, ankles, elbow, thumb or fingers are also involved.
