GPS stands for Global Positioning System. It is a space-based global navigation satellite system that provides reliable location and time information in all weather and at all times.

GPS consists of three parts: the space segment, the control;l segment and the user segment.

Uses of GPS:

GPS has dual-use

(1) military uses

(II) civilian uses

(a) Surveying, map-making, navigation, cellular telephony, and geofencing are the main civilian uses of GPS

(b) Navigation, Target-tracking, Missile and Projectile guidance search, and rescue are main military uses of GPs.
