When the sunlight reflects back from earth's surface some of the heat get trapped by the gasses like carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide etc., and increases the temperature of the environment such effect is called as the greenhouse effect.
Measures to control greenhouse effect:
(i) Disposing of the greenhouse gasses as they are formed elsewhere than in the atmosphere.
(ii)Prevention of deforestation and planting of more trees.
