Hemizygous refers to the condition of a gene where only one set of chromosomes from a chromosomal pair is observed.
Due to various conditions or even in a normal condition when in the genome of the human body only one 'X' chromosome is observed then it is referred to as hemizygous condition.
For example, In males, only one single set of 'X' linked genes is observed. This is referred to as a hemizygous condition.
Or due to some abnormalities when one set of genes from the Diploid Chromosome number is deleted, it is also referred to as hemizygous condition.
