Question

What is Hypermetropia? How can it be corrected?

Open in App
Solution

Hypermetropia: Hyperopia is also known as Farsightedness. A person suffering from farsightedness can see an object kept at far point but he can not see an object kept at near point. This happens because the size of eyeball decrease so image form beyond the retina or Eyes lens become thin so it doesn't efficiently bend incoming rays from near point and image of that object form behind the retina.

Correction: To make an image on the retina we need to converge the ray. hence converging lens required.
