Free element- A free element is a chemical element that is not combined or chemically bonded with other elements. Eg. O₂, N₂, H₂, etc.
Monoatomic ion - Monoatomic ion are the ions composed of a single atom. Eg. F^-, Br^-, Na⁺, Mg²⁺ etc.
Peroxides- Peroxides are the compounds containing the peroxide anion i.e. O₂^2- or oxygen-oxygen single bond (O-O). eg. hydrogen peroxide i.e. H₂O₂ (H-O-O-H)
Superoxides - Superoxides are the compounds containing the superoxide anion i.e. O₂^-. Eg. Potassium superoxide i.e. KO₂
Neutral Compounds- Neutral compounds are the compounds having no net electrical charge on them. Eg, O₂, H₂O, etc
Polyatomic ions- These are the ions composed or more than one atom. Eg. CO₃^2-, SO₄^2-, etc.
