International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an international organisation that fosters global monetary cooperation by securing financial stability and promoting international trade, employment and economic growth among the member countries. It is a very important organisation part of United Nations.
IMF works as a regulatory body which administers the code of conduct for exchange rate policies and puts restrictions on payments for current account transactions. IMF also provides certain financial support to the member countries so that they can meet their Balance of Payments. It acts as a centre for international cooperation and provides technical advice to various countries.
