The importance of different religions lies in religious tolerance or tolerance towards different faiths.The unity in diversity has beautified this importance of religious diversity which is even enshrined in the preamble of the country that is there is no official religion in india because india is a secular country that does not promote any one religion instead everyone is free to practise his religion.This has been practised in India since centuries now.India is home to some of the major religions of the world like Hinduism,christianity,muslim , sikhs and buddhism or jainism.Different religions come into existence either through teachings which inspire people,literature,propagation etc.
