Solution
Internal fertilization:
The fusion of gametes is called syngamy.
Internal fertilization refers to the process of syngamy occurring within an organism's bod
Eggs are generated inside the female body where they fuse with the male gamete.
The male gamete in species with internal fertilization is motile and must approach the egg in order to combine with it.
Even if the number of sperm generated is extremely high, the number of eggs produced is far lower.
Pollen tubes, on the other hand, carry non-motile male gametes to female gametes in seed plants.
Examples - Terrestrial organisms, belonging to fungi, higher animals such as reptiles, birds, mammals, bryophytes, pteridophytes, gymnosperms, and angiosperms
Internal fertilization in humans:
The sperms are introduced into the female reproductive system by the male.
In the ampulla of the fallopian tube, the sperm unites with the egg.
This produces a zygote, which then proceeds through mitosis to generate an embryo.
