Isoelectronic species refers to the species which have same number of electrons.
For e.g.
CO and N2 are isoelectronic as both have same number of electrons i.e. 14.
Ie,
In CO has 8 electron from oxygen and 6 from carbon, which makes a total of 14 electrons.
In N2 there are 2×7=14 electrons.
So they are isoelectronic species.
