Joint forest management or JFM program started in the year 1980. It promotes a sustainable conservation method for the protection of forests from the cumulative efforts and joint participation of local communities and government if India in protecting and managing degraded forests. In return for their service, communities get the benefit to avail the forest products such as rubber, medicine, fruits etc.
