What is Khadar ? About khadar
Khadar are names used in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, and Sindhi to distinguish between two types of river plains and alluvial soils in the Indo-Gangetic plains of North India and Pakistan. The doab regions are known for their Bangur and Kadir areas. Within the revenue borders of some villages, both Khadar and Bangar regions may exist. Because Bhangar soils are above flood level, they are less fertile, whereas Khadar soils are fertile because they are below flood level. Kankers (lime module) abound in Bhanger, and khadar soil is made up of fine silt and clay.
