Leghaemoglobin is a oxygen carrier that is found in the root nodules of the leguminous plants. Leghaemoglobin protect nitrogenase enzyme from environmental oxygen by absorbing it. Nitrogenase enzyme is responsible for nitrogen fixation in legumunous plants.
