Solution

  1. The lever is a straight or bent rigid bar, capable of turning around a fixed point or an axis, commonly called a fulcrum.

Depending upon the relative positions of the fulcrum, load, and effort, Levers are classified into three classes:

  1. First-order lever: Fulcrum is in between effort and load.
  2. Second-order lever: Load is in between fulcrum and effort.
  3. Third-order lever: Effort is in between fulcrum and load.

For example, Seesaw and Scissors is a first-order lever.
