What is linkage and linkage groups?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student, linkage is the tendency of genes that are close together on a chromosome to be inherited together during the meiosis phase of sexual reproduction. Linkage group comprises all of the genes on a single chromosome. They are inherited as a group; that is, during cell division they act and move as a unit rather than independently. Regards
