Solution

Dear student,
The being that can move, grow, respire, reproduce, respond to stimuli, maintain homeostasis, evolve, and need energy for all these functions are living while non-living things do not require any of these.

Following are the differences between the living and non-living things-
1. Living things can move, however non-living things cannot.
2. Energy is needed by living things, whereas non-livings don't need energy.
3. Living things are capable of growth, replica, and death.
4. Living things respire; non-living things don't respire.
5. Living things adapt to the environment and respond to stimulation.
