what is living polymer?

Dear Student,

Living polymers are the polymers which retain their ability to propagate and grow and there is no termination. As polymers are formed mostly by free radical polymerisation which involves three steps, initiation, propagation and termination. If the termination step is eliminated, then it will continue growing by propagation. That is why they are called living polymers.
