Open in App
Solution

Locomotion:

  1. Locomotion is the movement of an individual from one place to another.
  2. Protozoans are unicellular, eukaryotic, and heterotrophic organisms.
  3. Locomotion in protozoans can be classified into 3 broad types: flagellar locomotion, ciliary locomotion, and amoeboid locomotion
  4. In flagellar locomotion, flagella is a whip-like structure that helps in the movement of a cell or organism.
  5. In ciliary locomotion, cilia are slender and minute hair-like structures that assist in locomotion in protozoans.
  6. In amoeboid locomotion, a streaming movement of protoplasm forms a pseudopod that helps in locomotion.
