Lymph is a colourless fluid that is filtered out of the blood capillaries. Its composition is similar to that of blood except that red blood corpuscles and some blood proteins are absent in it. Lymph flows through the lymphatic system.
Function of Lymph:
Lymph transports the nutrients that may have been filtered out of the blood capillaries back into the heart to be recirculated in the body.
It brings CO2 and nitrogenous wastes from tissue fluid to blood.
Being loaded with WBCs such as lymphocytes, the lymph protects the body against infection.
