Solution

Macula Lutea:

  1. On the posterior pole of the eye, lateral to the blind spot, there is a yellowish pigmented region.
  2. This part of the eye is referred to as the macula lutea.
  3. The macula is the area in the human eye where the structures at the front of the eye focus light (cornea & lens) on it. It takes the image and sends it to the brain, which completes vision.

Function of Macula Lutea:

  1. The macula's primary job is to give crisp, clear, and straight-ahead vision.
  2. It is in charge of our whole centre vision as well as the majority of our colour vision.
  3. The macula is responsible for the tiny detail we see.
  4. Diseases of the macula, such as macular degeneration, cause loss of central vision since it is responsible for our centre vision.
