Magnetic induction: The process by which a magnetic substance acquires magnetic properties temporarily due to the presence of a magnet close to it, is known as magnetic induction.
Explanation: When a magnet is placed closer to an iron piece without touching it, the iron piece behaves like a magnet. The end of the iron piece near the north pole of the magnet becomes a south pole while the far end becomes a north pole.
