Advantages of a mean:

• The most commonly used measures of central tendency so it is easy to calculate.
• It takes all values into account.
• Useful for comparison.
• Every set has one and only one mean.

Example: The mean of the set $\left\{1,5,7,9,14,12\right\}$ is,
