Work:

  1. Work is considered to be accomplished whenever a force applied to an item causes it to move.
  2. Mathematically, work can be represented as:

W=F·SW=FScosθ

Here, W is the work, F is the force, S is the displacement, and θ is the angle between the force and the displacement.

Positive work:

Whenever force, as well as displacement, are both throughout a relatively similar direction, this same work done on an item was said to have been positive work.

Example: Force, as well as displacement, interact in the forward direction of a body moving on a horizontal surface. Throughout this situation, the work is referred to as Positive work.

Negative work:

Negative work is done when the displacement is in the opposite orientation of the force delivered.

Example: The gravity on some kind of rocket moving vertically upwards was worked on.

Zero work:

Whenever force and displacement, are perpendicular to one another, or even when either force or displacement is zero.

Example: Whenever we walk with an object, force operates in the downward direction, but displacement acts in a forward manner.
