what is meant by an increase in osmotic pressure

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
Osmotic pressure is the pressure or force that is applied to the solution that is passing through a semipermeable membrane and it is equal to the force that is needed to resist the solution to flow back from the surface.

Increase in osmotic pressure is due to high temperature and high concentrations of solution. Increase an osmotic presure means to resist osmosis in simpler terms.

Regards.
