Loudness of a sound wave is the volume of a sound wave .
Hence the loudness of a sound is determined by the amplitude of a sound wave .
(i) Soft sound is the type of sound when the pitch is lower ( low frequency ) and smaller vibration can cause the soft sound .
(ii) Hard sound is the type of sound when the pitch is higher ( high frequency ) and larger vibration can also cause the hard sound .
