Solution
Least distance of distinct vision of the eye
The focal length of the eye lens changes as we bring an object closer to the eye, forming an image of the object on the retina.
If the object is too close to the eye, the lens will not be able to curve sufficiently to focus the image on the retina. As a result, the image formed is blurred.
The shortest distance at which objects can be seen clearly without strain is called the near point of the eye.
It is also known as the least distance of distinct vision.
The least distance of distinct vision for a normal human eye is about 25 cm.
