1. Polymers are macromolecules that are composed of a number of repeating units called monomers.
2. When monomers are joined together they form a polymer.
3. The reaction of formation of the polymer by the monomers is called the Polymerization reaction.
4. Polymers are naturally occurring as well as synthetic.
5. Examples of polymers are Polyvinyl chloride, Polystyrene, Novolac, etc.
6. Polystyrene is a polymer of Styrene and the reaction is illustrated below
