Work is said to be done when a force applied to an object creates a displacement in it.
If the force applied on an object creates a displacement in the direction of the force or along the component of force, the work done is said to be postive. (1.5 marks)
If the force applied on an object creates a displacement in the opposite direction to force applied, the work done is said to be negative. (1 mark)
If the force applied fails to create or creates a displacement perpendicular to the direction of application of force, the work done is said to be zero. (1.5 marks)
