Primary industry is a type of industry which deals with extraction of natural resources and conversion into commodities and products for the customer. Also it deals with breeding and reproduction of plants and animals. These industries can be further sub divided into two:

1. Extractive industries: Ex: Mining and Lumbering
   
2. Genetic industries: Poultry farms, cattle breeding
