1. Light travels in a straight line, unless there is an object in its path.
2. If the ray of light falls on a smooth, shiny surface like a mirror, then it bounces back into the same medium. This is called reflection.

Hence, the bouncing back of a light ray into the same medium after falling on a shiny surface is called as Reflection.
