Social exclusion is a type of discrimination. It happens when people are wholly or partially excluded from participating in the economic, social and political life of their community, based on their belonging to a certain social class, category or group. In India, social exclusion occurs on the basis of identities including caste, ethnicity, religion, gender and disability.
In other words, people are excluded from society on basis of caste, religion, and many other factors.
Social exclusion also means exclusion from the prevailing social system and its rights and privileges, typically as a result of poverty or the fact of belonging to a minority social group.
