Statics electricity:

  1. Static electricity is the branch of physics that deals study of charges that are not in motion is called electrostatics.
  2. Static electricity is also called frictional electricity, when an object is rubbed with another object, both objects acquire the same amount of charges but of opposite nature.
  3. For example, when a plastic comb is rubbed on dry hair, then the plastic comb gets charged and it starts attracting small bits of paper. Here, the hair also gets equally but oppositely charged.
  4. That's why we called statics electricity as frictional electricity.
