Question

What is meant by transmission loss in electric lines? Explain.

Open in App
Solution

Since a transmission line has enormous length, its resistance increases. Hence electrical energy is lost in the form of heat. The transmission line may touch nearby branches of plants, and due to shorting some energy is lost. The energy loss in transmission lines due to the above mentioned reasons is called transmission loss.
