  1. According to Archimedes' principle, when a body is immersed in liquid then an upthrust also called buoyant force acts on the body which is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced.
  2. Since it is a force and the SI unit of force is the newton.

Hence, the SI unit of upthrust is the newton.
