Dear student

The type of food eaten and the way of obtaining this food by living organisms is called food habit.

Based on food habits, animals are classified into:
i. herbivores:- those feeding on plants and grasses. Eg. goat, cow.
ii. carnivores:-those feeding on flesh/meat of other animals. Eg. lion, tiger.
iii. omnivores:- those feeding on both plants and flesh/meat. Eg. human, rat.
iv. scavengers:- those feeding on dead animal and plant materials. Eg. vulture, hyena.
