Membrane biogenesis is the process of formation of membrane in a cell. It is carried on by endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus in the cell.
Plasmolysis is the condition where water moves out of a cell put in hypertonic medium, as a result of which the cell contents shrink away from the cell wall. First, water is lost from the cytoplasm and then from the vacuole. Such a cell is called plasmolysed cell. The Plasmolysis condition is usually reversible and the cell recovers when put again in a hypotonic medium.
